This is a story of the "Plain of Jars" trip. We arrived on the preceding night and after "suiting up" began snowshoeing upstream on the Cascade River about 8 pm. Within less than a half a mile I broke through river ice. Undaunted, with a motto "Mission First, we continued till about 11 pm through numerous ponds connected by the river. Next morning, we broke camp and continued to plow through thick brush lining the stream banks taking frequent breaks.
