I found a perfect lunch break spot. Yes, I was alone. No, I did not wear a hard hat. I did not carry a spot device. Certainly, I did not report about my safety and where abouts in the morning and in the end of the day. But I did feel free and not ordered around. If I did all those things it really would not be volunteering on free will. Would you go on a vacation to Hawaii and then call your boss twice a day that you are OK??? Most of all, when I thought about it, I was despite of taking these risks, a lot safer in the forest then driving a car in the Twin Cities on Friday night. In the forest is where we find our soul (or something like that per Sigurd Olson).
