We needed to build a fire fast. I pointed to edge of a forest about 300 yards away and we went. Once there, I took off the wet clothing. My team mates built a fire and drew sticks for the unlucky one to dry them. My Momentum 50 shell /3M Thinsulate warm up pants minimized the water intake to boots and over the waist. Still, it was a rush and took away a lot of energy. It is important to keep a sense of humor, even if it is dark. I thought of photo from a book "Death on Denali", with a body of dead climber at 19,000 feet. Still, of the temperature was 15 or 20 degrees colder, it would have been an entirely different ball game. Photo by Jan Pikor.
